The Dubai Airshow is one of the most prestigious aerospace events in the world that is attended by government officials, corporate leaders, and aviation enthusiasts from all over the world. It requires a robust digital platform to handle sudden spikes in traffic, especially during exhibitor registration, live updates, and ticket sales as it is a well-known event.
The Dubai Airshow needed a robust solution to handle massive traffic spikes during events while reducing costs. Their legacy Windows-based system struggled with scalability and frequent crashes. Our goals were to switch to Linux, put auto-scaling microservices in place, and improve performance in order to get rid of downtime.
In order to proactively handle problems, we also concentrated on developing a dependable infrastructure with real-time monitoring. In order to guarantee a good experience for visitors from around the world, the solution has to sustain smooth operations during busy times like ticket sales and live updates.
The website for the Dubai Airshow suffered from an antiquated single-server architecture that was unable to manage spikes in traffic at important occasions. When visitor numbers increased, the system’s slow response times and frequent crashes were caused by its outdated.NET framework and Windows hosting.
During times of heavy demand IT staff had to manually intervene because there was no automated scaling. It resulted sometimes too late to prevent failures. Furthermore, a lack of suitable monitoring tools made it difficult to identify and address performance bottlenecks before they had an impact on consumers.
At the Dubai Airshow, we implemented a cloud-native strategy that included microservices, auto-scaling, and real-time monitoring to lower expenses and guarantee dependable performance even during periods of high traffic.
We were able to upgrade the infrastructure, achieve high availability, and achieve smooth scaling by containerizing the application using AWS EKS (Kubernetes). The migration from monolithic to microservices architecture improved fault isolation, but the switch to Linux-based.NET hosting significantly reduced licensing costs.
Horizontal Pod Autoscaling (HPA) was used to dynamically modify resources in response to demand in real time. Traffic routing was improved by the Istio service mesh, allowing for canary deployments and advanced load balancing for safer updates.
ELK Stack was added for centralized logging, and Grafana and Prometheus were implemented for real-time system performance insight. In order to proactively detect possible bottlenecks before they affected users, synthetic monitoring was put into place.
Redesigned the database layer with read/write separation using Amazon RDS replicas and implemented Redis caching. It increased response times for commonly sought data and drastically decreased database load.
We reduced human error and ensured environment parity by automating cloud provisioning with Terraform for reliable, quick deployments.
Implemented fine-grained access controls and service-to-service authentication in accordance with zero-trust security principles. To provide strong security, automated patching and routine vulnerability scanning were incorporated into the CI/CD pipeline.
For optimal performance, scalability, and dependability, we used state-of-the-art cloud technologies and DevOps tools to drive Dubai Airshow's digital transformation.
By enabling enterprise-grade dependability, cost effectiveness, and peak performance, our cloud-native transformation gave Dubai Airshow a competitive edge with their digital platform.
The platform now easily manages 10x traffic spikes thanks to auto-scaling microservices, and it achieved 99.9% uptime at peak traffic with 0% downtime during critical events.
Linux conversion and appropriately sized Kubernetes clusters resulted in a 50% reduction in hosting expenses, while caching and CDN integration produced five times faster site loads.
With real-time warnings and centralized logging, you can save troubleshooting time by 70% while guaranteeing quick issue resolution and future-proof scalability.
Just like we empowered The Saudi Food Show, GITEX Global, and Dubai Airshow, we can transform your digital infrastructure to handle explosive growth.
